The max.slope is shown under the statistics tab on the Route-page.

Definition Max. slope or max ascent

The max. slope is the slope expressed in % of the steepest part of the tack split in units of 500m.

If the max. slope (base 500m) is 10%, the track will have a a part where the minimal climb is 50m per 500m.

Difficulty level (relative)

The Difficulty level is expressed as a value 1/10 (very easy) to 10/10 (very difficult). 1/10 indicates that for this variable there are 90% of the routes more difficult. 10/10 indicates that for this variable there are 90% of the routes more easy.

More background

The reason why there is a base 500m (and not shorter) has to do with the small errors on height measurement over short distances (noise).

In general, you will experience that the indicated max. slope in % will be exceeded in some parts of the track (this is an underestimated value!!!).

Frequent questions

Can I see the slope in detail?

No. This option does not yet exist.
