With the RouteYou mobile website or RouteYou App, you can also use your smartphone on site to track or record a route.

This functionality is available when you want to navigate an existing route but also when you want to track a new route. 

Recording a route without a pre-planned route

If you set out without a pre-planned route and want to track your route, you can do so very simply by following these steps on your smartphone:

1. Open the RouteYou map module. There are several ways to do this:
   • A/ The quickest way is to press the Plan button    at the top and then choose '  Record a route'. 
   • B/ On routeyou.com, go to the main menu via the icon at the top left. Here choose 'Plan a route' and then 'Record a route'. 
       
2. A map module will now open.
   
   Tip!  Use the "current position" button  to quickly zoom in on your current location.
3. Click on the START button  at the bottom right. You can now start recording your route and possibly also choose to share your poisition in the meantime. 
   
   Tip! If you are not logged in yet, we will ask you to log in so we can link the recorded route to your account. 
4. If you are at the end of your route, press the STOP button . 

Recording a route, when following an existing route

Find or plan a route. Then open the route on your smartphone.

Now go through the following steps:

1. If necessary, log in first via the profile icon at the top right.
   
   Tip! Use theLast viewed function to quickly return to your route.
    
2. Preview the route on the map:
   In desktop mode, the map and the list are next to each other. On smaller screens like a tablet or smartphone, there's not enough room for that. Therefore, on smaller screens you get the option. If you click on that you will see the route on the map.
3. Click on the START button  at the bottom right. You can now start recording your route and possibly also choose to share your position in the meantime.
    
4. Confirm by pressing "start". You will now enter navigation mode.
    
5. You can now travel your route. You may certainly deviate from the path of the route.
6. If you are at the end of your route, press the STOP button . 

After recording

After you press the STOP button, the recorded route is saved to your account. You can consult it and if necessary edit it in the route planner.
